Dr. Michael P. Choi

Dr. Michael P. Choi, DO, is a board-certified bariatric surgeon who was born and raised in South Florida and chose to return to his roots to serve the community he knows best. Over the past 12 years, he has performed more than 5,000 successful weight-loss procedures, earning recognition as one of South Florida's leading bariatric surgeons.

His academic background reflects the level of rigor he brings to every surgery: he graduated from Tulane University, obtained his Doctor of Osteopathy from Nova Southeastern University — where he continues today as an assistant professor teaching residents — and completed his Fellowship in Bariatric Surgery at the University of California, Davis (UC Davis), one of the most rigorous training programs in the country.

Dr. Choi is currently the only surgeon in South Florida offering the da Vinci robotic sleeve gastrectomy, a cutting-edge technology that attracts patients from across the state, the country, and internationally.
